A lesson learnt

Well it has been a busy busy week ( can't belive it's been a whole week since i posted on here!! ) As you have seen the Mr Burns head has been finished, the deadline was last wednesday and I managed to get it done on the Sunday as I knew this week was going to be busy. The man I was making it for was going to come and pick it up on weds afternoon, I got a text saying he would be 10 mins........ 2 and a half hours later he hadn't turned up and I had heard nothing, quite annoyed ( as I got abit nervous as money was going to be a topic to discuss ) I texted and he said he was running late and that he wouldn't be able to pick it up that day. The gig the head was intended to promote was on Saturday morning and after about 3 texts during the rest of the week I eventually heard from him on Saturday afternoon!!!!! I was sooooo annoyed! He still hasn't turned up to pick it up ( or to cross my palm with silver!! ) All that time and effort I put into making it and the bloke just didn't bother to come and get it, or to contact me, a lesson well learnt I feel. I have so much other bits and bobs I could have been doing instead of the head!! ggggrrrrr anyhows we learn and move on, so next fancy dress party I goto I know who I'm going to be!

On a lighter note, here's what I have been making at the toddler group I go to.

It's such a cool group, every week there's a talk or demo in a room seperate from the kiddies and you can go through leaving your little ones with the helpers and they keep an eye on them. A couple of weeks ago it was to make a nativity wall hanging so I went through and here it is so far! It's kinda quilting ( I think ) but the characters colours are all painted on and then stitched around. I have really enjoyed it so far, the other night a few people went to her house to get more done ( gorgeous house ) and right at the top of the house she has a sewing room full of gorgeous stuff that she had made, really lovely quilts and some really cool old lady doll's ( they reminded me of the old ladies that often appear in agatha christie films!! ) She offered to teach us anything ( she appears to know loads about sewing and making stuff!! ) brill, so I hope to ask her to teach me how to make a quilt.

For this week I have to make things for the craft fair on Saturday?!?!?!? and try to finish my wall hanging and try to put mr burns behind me.

Oh, that's a huge bummer about the Mr Burns head. I can only imagine how much work went into it. Some people huh? Grrrr. Great to hear about the other crafty pursuits though - it's always great to learn something new from someone who knows their stuff. I've been dreaming of making a quilt too - one day, I'm sure.
